OH Life ! :)
After over a week of working in this new company, i kind of feel like i already know how they roll. As early as my first week, i was exposed to office drama, been told that this/that person is like this/that. I accomplish everything by 6 PM. I had fun lunches, also action packed ones :)) I already had a group of friends, whom are mostly writers. YES , Writers, whom i admire for they are also called “creatives”.
I remeber when i was in grade school I used to be part of the campus herald. I even attended this workshop on journalism, but then I guess I was still exploring where I wanted to excel so, writing , may be, if not, one of my “talents”. So yeah, as I took Communication Arts in college, I also didnt have specialization on any of the courses. All i knew is that i wanted to excel in the English courses. i really worked hard on my english subjects, but because i was busy being a GRAMMAR NAZI, I forgot to focus on what career i would like to be in. Yes, Advertising was on top of the line, yet as i graduated and started to work, i felt inferior in the industry. I often got positions as an admin staff or executive assistant, and what makes it a bit worse is that, when people see that your job experience lies on Admin, they will most likely put you again on admin. These kind of things make me disheartened. Yes, pay was good, but how about you wanted to be in a field where you can meet clients and or be part of the conceptualization.
And here came the opportunity be of a specialist level, where there was a lot to learn, and my work is a little bit of everything. Still holding on to Tita Mells’ words, “Go where the sunshine is”, so here I am, taking on a new career in Social Media.
Here I do research, community management, project coordination, a bit of copywriting, got a new PC, my own cube, Kleenex, alcohol, duty meals and new people to grow up with. :)
What really gives me comfort here is that, it’s near my place, I only spend 16 pesos for fare going here and since my dad works at the airport (so near to Newport), he gets to pick me up at the end of the day. I just dont get that perk on Saturdays, coz yeah, I have 9am-1pm work, BOO! :|
So let’s take it from there. let’s see if everything’s still goood :)
